Performance Modeling Architect Job Description
This position is in the NPG Performance Engineering and Architecture team with a specific focus on performance modeling, analysis and correlation with RTL. The Network Platforms Group (NPG) is a part of the Network and Edge Group (NEX). We are looking for a highly motivated, creative, and technically competent individual for this position. This position offers broad but solid exposure to future IA platform architecture including processors, memory, IO, and networking-related components and their interdependencies. In addition, you will gain significant insight into future system architectures and technologies, state-of-the-art architecture and simulation tools. Duties will include developing and enhancing performance simulation models of networking related IP modules, performance correlation/validation with RTL, and their integration into a full SoC performance model. You will be working closely with Silicon architecture, Silicon design/validation, Software, and Performance Measurement and Analysis teams.
Qualifications
MS / BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering - 5 years of experience and a background in performance modeling and analysis. - 2 years of experience in RTL / model validation - 1 years of experience in scripting with Python / Perl - 5 years of experience and proficiency in SystemC/RTL/C/C . Additional Qualifications: - Good knowledge of IA Server/Client CPU architectures, Cache-hierarchy, Memory, and IO sub-system architecture and micro-architecture. - Experience in developing transaction level performance models in a modeling language like SystemC/C . - Experience in System Verilog RTL development and validation. - Experience with scripting in Python / Perl - Demonstrate good technical, problem solving, and communications skills.
