Job Description

Purpose of the Job:

The person who joins us as a Head - Product Data Science will work in an agile software development environment addressing machine learning and optimization analytics problem. He will be part of a cross-disciplinary team involving product engineers, product efficiency engineers and junior data scientists. The team will work on software development projects, typically involving large and complex data-sets. As a Head - Product Data Science, he will be the product owner of one of more related products, and will therefore be deeply involved in the development, and deployment of applications and algorithms running on both traditional databases and Big Data clusters.

Key Tasks:

• Identify data sets required to develop predictive models for solving strategic business problems

• Explore data sets and identify data transformation and data quality needs for targeted applications

• Develop algorithms and predictive models to derive insights and business value from data

• Test and validate algorithms and models using statistical and other techniques

• Effectively communicate technical analyses and results to business stakeholders

• Effective multitasking to deliver quality output on time

• Prepare artefacts to document, archive and communicate the work and outcomes. Share and discuss findings with team members, and review work of junior data scientists

• Guide teams to develop products that will have a positive strategic impact on the business

Educational Background:

• Masters+ degree in Statistics/ Computer Science/ related field

• Expertise on statistical tools like Python

• Exposure to RDBMS, Hadoop and Spark environments

Preferred Experience:

• 20+ years of experience in analytics development

• Hands-on experience working on Data Science products in the Banking/

Financial Services domain

• Hands-on experience working on data assessment and visualization,

descriptive statistics and predictive analytics using real data sets

• Hands-on experience working on developing business-ready products
