Roles and Responsibilities
We are looking for a Senior Devops for our AspenTech Subsurface Science & Engineering business unit. AspenTech Subsurface Science & Engineering produces software for the exploration and production of natural resources like oil, gas, mining, geothermal and to solve sustainability problems like CO2 capture.
As a devops, you will assist the software developer and the quality engineer of our SSE AspenOne Desktop suite, dedicated to geological reservoir simulation. You will maintain delivery pipelines and development environments for a large geographically distributed development group.
Desired Candidate Profile
Your Impact
- Code new features and enhance existing python / shell / groovy scripts.
- Automate and sequence operations using Jenkins jobs and Azure DevOps pipelines
- Develop and troubleshoot containerized environments (docker-compose)
- Build C++ packages from source using various toolchains and build systems on Linux and Windows
- Produce and publish on-demand packages (patches)
- Troubleshoot CI and nightly builds
- Capture the knowledge and provide guidance for teammates
What You'll Need
- 10 + years Experience in Linux system administration in on-prem or cloud environment
- Source-control proficiency, preferably Perforce and Git
- Fluency in Python and Shell scripting
- Experience in maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with C++ build toolchains and IDEs
- Experience with Docker
- This role involves intensive written and verbal communication with the colleagues from all over the globe. Hence, strong English command and interpersonal skills are essential.
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with Windows OS
- Experience with NodeJS development and testing tools
- Experience with OSS / security scans (Black Duck / Snyk)
- Experience with Ansible / Terraform / Kubernetes
