Our editing team partners with authors to polish their manuscript for language, structure, and format, thereby helping speed up the publication cycle. We are looking for contractual formatters for our editing team. Formatting involves making changes to the text to follow the journal instructions for authors that are related to the format. We offer year-long contracts with a fixed amount of work provided every month.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
· Format documents as per the journal instructions or a given style guide. Checks include those for language style, required sections, reference and citation style, display item callouts, title page requirements, page and line numbering requirements, and ethics requirements, among others
· If a particular style point is unclear or contradictory guidelines are present, point this out to the author
· Understand client and industry requirements and adapt the working approach accordingly
· Ensure that all subject-specific conventions are followed
· Receive training to become adept at the points mentioned above
CANDIDATE PROFILE
· Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in any field
· Prior experience in journal manuscript formatting (non-mandate)
· Familiarity with major style guides such as AMA, APA, and CSE (non-mandate)
· Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
