Job Biography

A change agent, manages overall projects and teams, to generate target revenue and profitability by successfully meeting customer objectives

Job Purpose

The scope of the role is centred on management of project(s), generating target revenue and profitability by meeting customer objectives. Scope also includes ability to effectively review and manage project progress, resource utilization, schedules, risks, people and stakeholder coordination

  • Impacts customer satisfaction by applying and leveraging project management skills and support tools to meet project milestones and customer requirements

Principal Accountabilities (A)

Technical Management



Skill enhancement

  • Accountable to provide and direct for skill set expansion based on inputs from the customer, management, sales and marketing
  • Accountable for upgrading own technical and managerial skills from time to time based on customer/project needs or industry/domain trends
  • Responsible to acquire multi-disciplinary knowledge and technology awareness at high-level to understand the project requirement
  • Identifies need for trainings and facilitates technical trainings, knowledge sharing sessions, and through external trainings. Negotiate with customer for trainings at onsite if applicable


Project Management



Project execution and management

  • Accountable to develop project plans and proposals inclusive of scope, schedule, budget, resources, competency needs, communication, risk management, inventory management, vendor management and change management
  • Accountable to define project execution strategies and monitor and control to ensure deliverables are according to customer expectations and quality requirements and within agreed budgets and timelines. Coordinates with inter disciplinary teams during project execution as needed
  • Responsible to deliver the projects with appropriate technical solution that is within the approved schedule and budget meeting quality and safety standards
  • Accountable to conduct frequent project status reviews with management team and customers on team accomplishments, issues and concerns
  • Accountable to define key performance indicators for the project along with milestones and monitor them till the project completion

Change management

  • Accountable to monitor and manage project scope changes, contractual terms and effort

Risk management

  • Responsible to identify risks, plan for risk mitigation, monitor for risks continuously


Process Management



Process adherence/Process improvement

  • Responsible to plan and define systems and procedures to improve operating quality and efficiency of the team
  • Accountable to enforce adherence to engineering and quality processes/practices within the department and projects. Performs reviews and identifies improvements
  • Responsible to conduct periodic presentation(APSR) to senior management on team accomplishments, issues and concerns
  • Accountable to enforce project audits and take action as needed to address the audit outcomes

Knowledge management

  • Accountable to contribute to the knowledge management/lessons learnt/best practices

  • Accountable for representing the organization to external customers/clients
  • Accountable for effective customer escalation management
  • Responsible for regular communication with key customers to share delivery performance and understand issues, if any

  • Ensures effective customer engagement and help acquire new business from them by showcasing organisational capabilities and exploring opportunities

Business development

  • Responsible to contribute to new business opportunities with proactive proposals
  • Supports sales/pre-sales teams with presenting and getting into technical discussions. Specially at the time of proposals gets involved in resolving technical queries

Revenue and profitability

  • Accountable to contribute to meet revenue targets and contribution margins. Identifies effective methods to be adopted to make project more profitable
  • Accountable to help preparing project proposals with budgeting, effort estimations and the timeline

Technical Focus Areas

  • Design or modify electrical/electronic engineering assemblies, layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications of difficult scope

  • Problem identification and troubleshooting a variety of complex electrical problems with limited supervision

  • Define, coordinate, perform and generate engineering test reports with limited supervision

  • Perform engineering analysis of difficult scope with limited supervision

  • Technically lead and/or executes engineering projects, including development of key suppliers

  • Implements concepts for variety of complex product issues and electrical solutions of difficult scope

  • Work with global teams to design sub systems / systems of process chambers used in semiconductor equipment industry.

  • Provide solution to a variety of engineering problems involving Control Panel Design, Cable Harness Design & Cable Routing.

  • Design & Drafting of cable harness, control panel using CAD tools (Zuken E3S, ACAD).

  • Interface with internal and external customers regarding electrical issues for specific project.

  • Designs and analyzes electrical systems, equipment and packaging.

  • Experience in electrical panel design, cable and harness design using any AutoCAD/ E-plan /Zuken E3S or any other tool.

  • Switchgear and auxiliary components selection.

  • Calculate load ampere requirements and select proper cables as per standards.

  • Understanding of controller Based automation like Digital I/O & Analog I/O.

  • Hands on experience in field instrumentation and knowledge about different sensors/ measurement methods.

  • Aware of Industrial communication protocols such as Device Net, Ethernet & Ether CAT.

  • Good understanding of IEC & NEMA standards and implement in design. Knowledge on SEMI S2 Standards is an added advantage.

  • Requires knowledge of systems and software necessary to perform job function such as Team Center, E3S and AutoCAD.
