Summary

The Firmware Architect is a key member of the SMART Projects team. He\\she will work both with India local team members as well as with IDEX International business units on key development activities.

The individual will oversee and/or perform necessary firmware related based or supported in India. This will include coordination of research and development, new product initiatives, and related engineering activities.

Skills/ Requirements Of Position

• Experience in embedded firmware development with special emphasis in C programming
• Experience in Coriolis signal path modeling and closed loop control algorithms
• Experience and comfort in working with :
• Electro-mechanical systems / sensors
• Process Control instrumentation design
• Work independently without any guidance or reference to technology
• Should have great problem solving capability
• Logical thinker
  
  

Technical Competencies

Experience:

• 15+ years of experience in embedded firmware development using C programming
• Must have experience in TI TMS320 or similar DSP experience
• Familiar with XILINX Spartan 7 series FPGA’s & tools used
• Must have digital signal processing and filter design experience
• Must have experience on algorithms, filter design, closed loop control system like PID, Fuzzy logic or other tools
• Experience of Real Time Operating Systems in embedded applications is must
• Must have good understanding of electro-mechanical system
• Must have experience on Coriolis firmware design
• Must have experience in developing diagnostics features in flow metering
• Ethernet protocol experience is an added advantage
• Experience on Matlab tool to simulate / validate is an added advantage
• Ability to read schematic diagrams and understand peripheral interface is necessary
• Comfortable using Oscilloscopes, Debuggers, Logic Analyzers
• Experience with using Python or the like to write external test code to validate embedded code is good to have
• Familiarity with revision control systems like SVN or Git
• Should be able to conduct design review & evaluate job of third party companies
• Communication protocol like HART/Modbus/Foundation Fieldbus /Profibus its implementation
• Understanding of different Sensor technologies
• Knowledge & experience on product fulfilling SIL certification requirements
• Minimum of 2 successful completion of product design
• Experience in implementation of family integrity requirements of the products & its components
• Familiarity & understanding of Welmec & OIML standard requirements for flow measurement

Education Level, Specialized Knowledge, Training, Licenses, and/or Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering is required
• Prior history in technical environment such as process control, instrumentation, consumer electronics, industrial application, or healthcare
• Experience working in cross functional global application teams (ex USA, Europe, India / Asia, etc.) a major plus
