Job in Delhi for IT System Administrator

Job Description

1. Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration. Basic knowledge of Windows administration will be an added advantage.
2. Experience with AWS / Microsoft Azure / Google Cloud
3. Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services
4. Strong experience with SQL and MySQL (NoSQL experience is a plus, too, since we also use MongoDB)
5. Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
6. Knowledge of setting up DR with AWS is an added advantage

Responsibilities
1. Responsible for setting up high availability systems on cloud.
2. Responsible for ensuring the 24x7 system availability.
3. Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system.
4. To proactively monitor the systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime .
5. Responsible for providing trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
6. Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of server issues.
7. Responsible for troubleshooting and problem solving of SQL Server/MySQL/Postgres SQL Server issues.
8. Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades.
9. Responsible for implementation and release of database changes according to agreed timescales
10. Responsible for 24x7 support for databases availability and performance
11. Responsible for coordination with internal teams and service providers.

Qualifications
1. Bachelors or Masters Degree in Science, Software or Computer Engineering required
2. 3+ years technical experience supporting core business applications
3. 2+ years configuration management for large scale websites.
4. Strong Experience in AWS, including setting up DR and monitoring.
5. Experience with Microsoft Azure/ Google Cloud services will be added advantage
6. Strong work ethic and a self-starter. A proven ability to take minimal direction and execute tasks and projects.
7. Strong interpersonal communication skills with the ability to handle high-stress situations
8. Understanding of version control systems like SVN, Git etc. (including branching & merging strategies)
9. The ability to solve complex problems and issue management triggered by escalations or system failures
10. Exposure to databases like MSSQL, PostGres SQL, MySQL and Oracle is desirable.
