Job Description

TREND ANALYSIS AND FORECASTING:

  • Drive the identification and forecasting of key consumer trends based on data (historical sales, inventory, market researchetc,)aswellasobservation,interactionswithchannelpartnersandvisitstorelevantmarketsandconsumer feedback.
  • Identify market opportunities relevant to the proposed product categories / brand based on trends.
  • Forecast the sales by category/region/ article wise with accuracy basis interaction and feedback fromsales

PRODUCT LINE PLANNING & PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT:

  • Drive the management of the product portfolio in the categories/sub-categories of the brand based on consumer need, product lifecycle changes and identified marketopportunities.
  • Develop and coordinate with Cross-functional stakeholders - Sales and Design-New Product Development on the Line planning and range development consistent with the product strategy that through a balance of choice, value, quality, fashion ability and desirability, continuously caters to the consumer needs and also offer the best value proposition.
  • DevelopadetailedProductDevelopmentbriefforeveryseasonforeverysub-categoryofthebrandthatdetailstarget consumer segments, captures key consumer trends and offers the best product offering in terms of market- competitiveness and consumer needfulfilment.

PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT:

  • Build and Manage the process of product development that accurately and systematically translates product briefs anddesiredproductattributestospecificdesignrequirementsandproductpropositionsthatdelivertheKPI'Sforthe Brandasdefinedbytheoverarchinglong-termbrandstrategy,mid-termannualplansandshort-termseasonalplans.
  • Constantly update the Core line to ensure competitive edge in market and best value proposition and trendiness in product offerings to theconsumer.
  • Monitor and approve the process of Prototype and final Sample development acrosscategories.
  • Provide clarity to issues on style /fit/patterns andconstruction.
  • Develop and Manage the process of delivering / sourcing / inhouse-manufacturing of product packages that consistently documents and communicates clearly defined manufacturingrequirements.
  • Approve Pre-Production Samples for each productstyle.
  • Lead and manage an effective and efficient Product development process in line with GTMstrategy.
  • Continuously monitor and improve (fasten) Ideation to Go to market leadtime.

PRODUCT PRICING & PROFITABILITY:

  • Drive continuous analysis of competitor pricing with respect to value proposition offered to end consumers as well as channelpartners.
  • Identify the right and viable price points for each product that ensures market competitiveness as well as offers the best value proposition to theconsumer.
  • Analyze products according to Product specifications in terms of material, process and overhead costs with the purpose of maximizing margins through competitivecosting.
  • Drive Category wise Profitability and adequate controls on discounts and seek opportunity to maximizeprofitability.

COMMUNICATION:

  • Coordinate with the brand marketing team to effectively communicate the value proposition and product messages to end consumers as well as channelpartners.
  • Drive product inputs for ATL, BTL promotional campaigns, seasonal cataloguing and omni-channellisting.
  • Enhance product concepts through improvement of support media such as product tags /packaging along with Marketing Team.

TEAM BUILDING/ SUPERVISORY:

  • Train and build from scratch a strong team- creative, innovative, commercially driven with consumer focus team of Category Managers &designers
  • Identifyandimplementdevelopmentplansandcontinuouslymentorandmonitorindividualperformanceandgrowth.
  • Encourage the exploration of new ideas while inculcating a strong discipline of time management and systematic and methodical execution of the product developmentprocess.

Qualifications Full-time master's in business administration (Specialization in Marketing and Sales and/or Strategy) from a reputed Institute and Full-time bachelor's in engineering (Chemical/Mechanical) from a reputed Institute / FDDI
Work Experience Minimum of 4 years (preferably MNCs) / 10 years of work experience in a product / category management role in a FMCG/Fashion/Footwear organization of nationalrepute
