Position: Operations cum BDE

Location: Mumbai Branch

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Operations cum Business Development Executive to join our dynamic team at the Mumbai branch. This role combines responsibilities across operations and business development, focusing on streamlining freight forwarding processes, managing clearances, and driving sales initiatives for new business opportunities in the logistics sector.


Key Responsibilities:

Operations:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of freight forwarding and clearance processes.
  • Manage and coordinate the logistics and supply chain operations efficiently.
  • Ensure timely and accurate clearance of goods, complying with all regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with vendors, shipping lines, and port authorities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Handle documentation, customs clearance, and all related operational paperwork.
  • Monitor and resolve any operational challenges, ensuring customer satisfaction.

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the freight forwarding and logistics sector.
  • Develop relationships with potential clients, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
  • Promote company services and solutions to prospective customers.
  • Create and deliver presentations, proposals, and quotations to prospective clients.
  • Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to devise strategies for business growth.
  • Track market trends and competitor activities to generate insights and improve sales efforts.

Sales:

  • Achieve sales targets and contribute to revenue growth.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to ensure competitive yet profitable deals.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and emerging trends in logistics.
  • Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts for management review.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in operations, business development, or sales within the freight forwarding and logistics industry.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of logistics, customs clearance, freight forwarding, and supply chain management.
  • Sales Skills: Proven experience in sales, client relationship management, and business development.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent ability to troubleshoot operational challenges and identify solutions.
  • Negotiation: Skilled in negotiating contracts and business terms with clients and partners.
  • Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of freight management software and tools is preferred.
