About the Job

As a Packaging Development Manager, you will be responsible for OTIF & FTR delivery of innovations, value improvement projects, and quality improvement projects, as requested by the clients.

What you will do:

• Partnering with Product Developers, Project Managers and/or Business Delivery Head
• Delivering the innovations adhering to the highest standards of quality, both by design and by delivery, across the chain
• Ensuring full compliance to the Legal and Regulatory norms prevailing in the country

• 5 to 7 years of hands on experience in packaging development for NPD projects, margin improvement, and quality management of packaging materials for flexible laminates, rigid containers, and paper packaging products in a reputed R&D setup /FMCG /Confectionery/Food/Beverages/Functional foods/Pharma company
• A qualified packaging professional either from Indian Institute of Packaging, SIES or from any institute with reputation
• An appreciation of food systems and their interaction with packaging
• Experience in handling projects independently, right from ideation to implementation
• Working knowledge in principles of packaging development, specification management, Q&FS systems and processes, packaging regulatory standards, experiment design, intellectual property rights and management, and open innovation
• Working knowledge on mould design and management
• Working knowledge of rapid prototyping, artwork development and management
• Capability of working with product development team, to identify suitable packaging options, to conduct shelf life studies and arrive at optimum specifications for packaging, both on cost and performance terms
• Skills on using design programmes to design packaging options
• Good knowledge about developments in packaging sustainability
• Previous experience in working with packaging machine suppliers
• Capability of identifying and recommending suitable machines for scale up
