Job Description

Job Summary

• Design, develop and validate new products to market as per functional requirements.
• Undertake VAVE/Sustain activities, evaluate the effectiveness of design for cost, reliability, and safety.
• Utilizes CAD (Computer Aided Design) or CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.
• Undertake documentation activities as per applicable design standards.
  

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Design and develop heat exchangers by utilizing advanced modeling tools and engineering principles.
• Perform basic hand calculations for pressure equipment components as per standards (ASME, PED etc.)
• Provide engineering support for legacy products, legacy designs, and cost reduction efforts.
• Analyze new components, materials, and technologies to evaluate functionalities for all new product development.
• Participate in DFMEA, design reviews and product documentation.
• Apply engineering analysis to make data-driven design decisions.
• Demonstrate strong collaboration skills and the ability to think creatively to create solutions, drive execution and focus on results.
• Interface with Product Managers, Applications Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Purchasing, and other functions during all phases of product development.
• Work independently or as a team member in the global design team
  

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• BE / B-Tech, ME/M-Tech in Mechanical / Thermal Engineering and 5 to 10 years of product design
• Has experience and ability to design of shell- tube Heat Exchangers and Scrape Surface Heat Exchangers
• Familiar with new product development process.
• Familiar with pressure vessel design code ASME Sec VIII, PED, and CRN
• Expert knowledge of computer aided design (CAD –
• Experience or exposure to heating/cooling cycle in food processing application is desirable.
• Knowledge of Hygiene design and its regulatory requirements is plus.
• Expert understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing as it relates to individual parts and overall assemblies.
• Well versed in wide variety of production processes including (but not limited to) machining, casting, welding, Polishing.
• Utilize software programs such as (but not limited to) MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint.
• Strong communication skills.
  

Education And Experience

• BE / B-Tech or ME / M-Tech in Mechanical / Thermal Engineering and 5 to 10 years of product design
• Has experience and ability to design of shell- tube Heat exchangers and Scrape surface heat exchangers
• Familiar with pressure vessel design code ASME Sec VIII, PED, and CRN
• Expert knowledge of computer aided design (Preferred – Inventor)
• Knowledge of thermal analysis of equipment and of Finite element analysis, thermal design
• Knowledge PDM and ERP system such as SAP
