Job Description

Skills and Experience Required:

1. At least 8-10 years of experience playing the role of a Cloud Database Administrator with Linux experience.

2. Having good hands on experience on migrating the database instances from On-Prem to Azure cloud.
3. Having good hands on experience in managing the larger databases and performance tuning process.
4. Administer database security, monitor and correct space utilization.
5. Design and implement physical and logical database backups and perform database restorations.
6. Having good hands on experience in backup and restoring of databases.
7. Good knowledge on replication methods and also resolving connectivity issues.
8. Administer database components (i.e., containers, tablespaces, tables, indexes, views, etc.) for on-premise as well on cloud.

9. Experience in MS SQL, My SQL, Oracle and PostgreSQL Databases is a must.
10. Strong knowledge of database administration in the Azure cloud
11. Manage processes, automation, best practices, and documentation.
12. Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills.

Responsibility:

1. Decide target PostgreSQL environment on cloud (IAAS / PAAS / managed PostgreSQL)

2. Migrate to cloud
3. Cutover migration tasks
4. Ensure the current applications can read and write from and into the managed PostgreSQL
5. Implement back-up and recovery processes.
