Job Description
Responsible for software development projects across multiple technologies (in-house or through vendors) for building new capabilities, driving automation and improve operational efficiencies (across Colocation, Data Centre, Cloud, MSS etc.). Formulates and defines specifications for complex operating software programming applications, including commercial applications. Drives design, development, testing, debugging and implementation of software applications or specialized utility programs using current programming languages and source code to support end users needs. Performs regular updates and recommends improvement to existing applications using engineering releases and utilities. Establishes technology standards for applications development and is also responsible for software quality assurance by reviewing process compliances, identifying pain points, and driving improvement initiatives.
Broad outline of the Role
Interacts with internal customers to understand business requirements. Leads discussions with team to evaluate feasibility, technical specifications, cost-benefit analysis, etc. Drives development of solution architecture. Analyzes test results post developmental testing. Oversees go-live and guides troubleshooting. Leads a team through expertise in most or all areas within Software Development. Tactical role which provides a marked contribution to defining the direction of new products/softwares based upon business strategy, with a significant mid term impact on business unit overall results. May lead important projects that require providing experienced project team members with instruction, guidance and advice in all aspects of the project to ensure delivery of quality outcomes. Identifies problems and significantly improves, changes or adapts existing methods and techniques. Focus is on implementation and control rather than policy and strategy development. Capable of identifying key issues and priorities and focusing on these to deliver required results with minimal direction and supervision. Education: MBA in Systems or MCA Knowledge of LAMP (Linux, MySQL and PHP) preferred Experience: 10-15 years, experience in software development and project management required
