We are looking to hire for the role of Senior Research Associate for Skin Cleansing – Lifebuoy based in Mumbai

Background and Scope

Skin Cleansing Lifebuoy is the flagship hygiene brand of Unilever. It is a brand rooted in purpose from its inception. The brand’s vision is to be World’s undisputed No. 1 hygiene protection brand. Skin Cleansing Lifebuoy team in Mumbai is responsible for global design for Lifebuoy Bars, Body Wash and Hand Hygiene. The team’s responsibilities span new product development, improving value equation of current products, managing specifications for product manufacture/quality, offering best in class hygiene mixes for consumers and redesigning mixes to achieve 100% biodegradability by 2030.

The current job description is for Senior Research Associate position reporting into a R&D Sr. Product Development Manager, Skin Cleansing Lifebuoy, Mumbai. The person would lead as technical workstream leader for key projects (across bars and sanitizers) under Lifebuoy and platform brands Program. In addition, the role would involve leading value creation initiatives, driving current product portfolio of Bars and Sanitizers to 100% biodegradation, managing product quality and specifications, interfacing with global & regional cross-functional teams.

Key accountabilities:

Lead key design projects as Technical workstream leader developing mixes as desired by the business. Understanding the consumer habits, need gap and pain points as required by the Project team and integrating relevant insights in product design. Work with the Processing and Supply Chain teams, develop manufacturing processes to scale the product manufacture from lab to pilot to main plant, estimate the CAPEX requirements. Technical troubleshoot formulation related issues working closely with relevant experts from Design and Science &Technology teams. Ensure compliance to Internal Unilever protocols, External regulatory environment, while developing mixes with respect to commitment to safety, environment, claim support, specification management etc. Provide support in development of the understanding of the technologies that will help drive meet the Lifebuoy brand ambitions. understanding competitor formulation strategy globally and develop insights to derive competitive advantages. Developing robust product specification for implementation globally

Key Skills and experience
Professional skills/background:

• B. Sc or Masters in Science or engineering discipline or related area.
  

General skills/competencies :

• Strong technical acumen and scientific approach to design and troubleshooting.

• Deep Knowledge of the process of Designing and Deploying differentiated products on time in full.

• Good networking, organization, planning skills and information management.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Identification of risks and development of mitigation plans.

• Ability to work and manage multiple stakeholders.

  
  

Relevant Experience :

• 4-6 years’ experience

• A well-established track record of delivery

• Good understanding of Skin Cleansing Category will be a plus

• A well-developed networking and cross functional team management

• Good design experience of toilet soaps/ Sanitizers will be preferred
