Overview
The Ecosystem Services Department (ESD) builds the platforms that power the Rakuten Group worldwide. Our team runs the large scale production environments of Rakuten's e-commerce services, such as the Rakuten Membership Platform which is the primary Identity management platform that serves the Rakuten group of businesses across APAC, US and EU
We are looking for an experienced dev-ops engineer who would be responsible for systems with high availability requirements, complex infrastructure and high impact. If you are interested in managing critical, highly available web applications, please come talk to us!
Responsibilities
Create, deploy dockerized applications on K8S cluster
Design and manage Kubernetes clusters on multi-region cloud (GCP, Azure etc.) and in-house environments
Support troubleshooting and co-ordinate with Dev, QA and SRE teams on incidents and service outages
Create and manage CI/CD pipelines
Monitor applications and ensure adherence to committed SLA
Apply security best practices, Perform regular audits for Infrastructure , Vulnerabilities , Certificates etc.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors degree (BS) in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
5+ years of experience in relevant OPS or SRE or DEV position
Experience in Agile development and Hands-on experience in implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Gitlab or similar) for release automations
Working experience in containerization and container's orchestration - Docker + Kubernetes + Helm (preferable)
Good command in Linux server administration
Good Scripting knowledge for automation Bash/Python/Go Lang/Ruby
Working experience configuring, deploying and maintaining NGINX/Kubernetes/HAProxy ingress
Good knowledge in networking (firewalls, routes, NAT), TCP/UDP, HTTP networking basics
Basic administration skills for RDBMS (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis), and in memory DB-s like Redis. MemCached etc
Working experience in cloud infrastructure administration (GCP preferable)
Debugging skills on API/Webapps built on Java/Kotlin/GoLang etc
Experience using Docker, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform or other infrastructure automation tools
Experience with implementing monitoring systems (New Relic, Datadog, Nagios, Elasticsearch, etc), (Prometheus + Grafana + ELK stack is preferable)
Good communication skills
